Weekly Update, Families!
Hello Barracuda Families! We had a great turnout at the Book Fair! Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our school. If your child missed it, don’t worry—we’ll have another Book Fair in the spring!
As September comes to an end, we have lots of fun activities coming up in October, so be on the lookout for more information soon!
A few friendly reminders: please remember to pay for your child’s field trip and Spirit Shirt if you haven’t already, and return the completed field trip form with your child. Also, please sign and return the yellow Photo Release Form as soon as possible.

Math
- In Topic 3, Lessons 4–8, we will learn how to use the distributive property to multiply by 8–12. We will also learn how to use the associative property to find the product of three factors.
Science
- This week students will participate in our annual Science Olympics!
Reading, Writing & Social Studies
Reading
- In Module 2, Week 3, we will explain characters, determine their point of view, and identify elements of poetry in Dear Dragon.
Writing
- In Module 2, Week 3, we will learn about letter writing and practice writing the cursive letters j and p.
Grammar
- In Module 2, Week 2, we will learn how to form words with the endings -ed, -ing, -er, and -est.
Social Studies
- In Chapter 2, Lesson 2, we will learn how climate affects the land, plants, and animals. We’ll also learn how to read an elevation map.
